On Friday, 23 May 2025, accadis International School Bad Homburg (accadis ISB) ceremoniously bid farewell to its eighth cohort of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) and congratulated the graduates on reaching this significant milestone. Four of the students have attended accadis ISB since Elementary School.
Dressed in caps and gowns, the students were awarded their High School Diplomas. Festive speeches were delivered by Head of School Maximilian Müllerleile, Head of Secondary School Dr. Stefan Wolkenfeld and Prof. Christoph Kexel, Managing Partner of accadis International School Bad Homburg (accadis ISB), all honouring the academic accomplishments of the students. As in previous years, several graduates were honoured for special achievements.
Emotional Moments and an Oscar for “Patience and Class”
Personal, appreciative and humorous – Homeroom Teacher Henrike Godding addressed each graduate with touching words. Visibly moved, she looked back on the shared journey and sent her students off with a hopeful message: “Out there, there is hope – you are the future.”
One particularly emotional highlight followed with a photo retrospective of twelve years of school life – from the first day of school to class trips, theatre performances and recent snapshots from Theme Week. Stirring memories – not only for the graduates.
Graduate Vera opened the class speech by saying, “It still feels more like a dream than tangible reality.” She vividly compared the IB journey to a bike tour – at times sunny, at times steep, and always challenging. “Our teachers guided us safely through narrow passages – with patience, motivation and a listening ear.” As a token of appreciation, the class presented their teacher with a symbolic Oscar for “Patience and Class”.
The ceremonial highlight of the day was the traditional tossing of the caps in the presence of friends and family – an emotional moment and a symbolic departure into a new chapter of life.
Why Universities Value the IB
The IB Diploma qualifies for university study in Germany and worldwide. Universities value both the breadth and depth of study in this programme, which focuses on students taking a broad perspective and acquiring advanced research, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Focus on Study Skills from Day One
An advantage of accadis ISB is the close collaboration with the accadis Hochschule. In this way. There is a focus on study skills from day one. For example, the subject "Business Management" from the IB subject group "Individuals and Societies" is taught by Prof Dr Andreas Huber, Head of the Department of Marketing and Media at the accadis Hochschule. Here, students learn to understand and evaluate the impact of business activities on the global market.
accadis ISB congratulates its graduates and looks forward to following their future successes.
