Last Friday, a remarkable art exhibition took place at accadis International School Bad Homburg (ISB), where Grade 12 students presented their work under the inspiring themes of "La Vie en Rose”, “Identity” and “My Inner World". The exhibition is part of the final examination of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the Visual Arts course.
Artworks inspired by personal experiences of values
The exhibition offered a glimpse into the creative world of the young talents of accadis ISB. Inspired by personal experiences and feelings, the future graduates have created impressive works of art over the past two years. Their individual artistic sensibilities, craftsmanship and personal experiences helped them to create unique and expressive works.
Proud Art Teacher: Creative Engagement in the IB Diploma Programme
"The Grade 12 Art Exhibition is always a highlight for me and I am overwhelmed by the results every year," says Stalina Arnold, Art teacher and Head of Department for Art, proudly. In the IB Diploma Programme, which leads to a university entrance qualification recognised in Germany and worldwide, the subject is called "Visual Arts". It goes far beyond 'painting': the curriculum includes topics such as artistic identity and expression, historical and cultural influences and the use of media to communicate ideas. The art exhibition is an official part of the IB examination and accounts for 40% of the overall grade.
Many guests visited the art exhibition
The event attracted a large number of visitors who marveled at the artwork on display. Curious guests interacted with the talented young artists and learned more about the different techniques.
