
Standing ovations and sparkling eyes – in early June, the accadis Theatre Club (aCT) brought The Canterville Ghost to life with wit, charm and heartfelt performances. Adapted by Tim Kelly from Oscar Wilde’s classic tale, the production was much more than a school play – it was a true celebration of talent, teamwork and passion.

An American family moves into the historic Canterville Chase – complete with ghost! Sir Simon, the sporting spirit, succeeds in making life miserable. But the daughters Pam and Wendy strike back with deodorant spray! Outraged, Sir Simon calls on a quirky cast of ghostly friends. Life is hectic and fantastically funny around Canterville Chase until the real solution to the problem of the galloping ghost is discovered.

Under the inspiring direction of Daniel Elliott and Holly Levent, the students didn’t just act – they became their characters. Each role felt tailor-made, each performance brimming with authenticity and emotional depth. The energy on stage was contagious, the love for theatre palpable in every scene.

Behind the curtain, a dedicated backstage crew made sure every detail was just right. Lighting, sound, music, make-up and costumes – all crafted with care and creativity. This was theatre at its best: collaborative, spirited and full of heart.
