The accadis Club of Theater (aCT), an accadis International School Bad Homburg (accadis ISB) after school activity, delighted audiences last Friday and Saturday with an outstanding performance of Rob Urbinati's "Death by Design." The play, which is both a thrilling crime story as well as a sparkling comedy, attracted numerous audience members to the event location in the new school building.
Students bring roles to life
Months of intensive rehearsals lie behind the Theater Club, consisting of a total of 25 students from Grades 5 to 11. Under the direction of two dedicated Secondary School teachers, Daniel Elliott and Dr. Tamara Haddad, the talented aCT participants further developed their acting skills and brought their roles to life with great enthusiasm. In addition to the acting performance, they also took responsibility for makeup and technology, independently and professionally.
A thrilling atmosphere
"Death by Design" tells the story of a group of eccentric characters gathered on an English country estate when a murder occurs. Between turbulent entanglements and clever dialogues, the mystery behind the crime is gradually revealed. The aCT brilliantly met the challenge of combining both the comedic and mystery elements of the play. The audience was impressed by the passion and professionalism of the young actors and actresses - from beginning to end, there was a rousing atmosphere in the theater.
After school club for Secondary School
The accadis Club of Theater is part of the afternoon programme at accadis ISB and is aimed at Secondary School students who are interested in acting or working backstage. The club offers space for the development of creative talents as well as acting skills. Under the direction of two Secondary School teachers, Daniel Elliott and Dr. Tamara Haddad, the course participants meet once a week.
