More than EUR 1,500 raised during the Nepal Art Exhibition

nepal art exhibition 202516th Nepal Art Exhibition – Young Artists, Meaningful Impact

For the 16th consecutive year, accadis International School Bad Homburg is supporting the Chhori Maiya Shrestha Memorial Academy (CMS) in Nepal – a heartfelt initiative led by Kindergarten teacher and project coordinator Sunita Shrestha. Each year, our Preschool children prepare unique artwork and crafts for a charity exhibition, raising funds to improve educational opportunities for children in Nepal.

This year’s exhibition took place in early June in the lovingly decorated Cafeteria of accadis ISB. Many families visited to admire their children’s creations and support the cause. Together, we raised an impressive EUR 1,537.00, with an additional EUR 350 - 400 worth of artworks still available for sale in the coming days.

This year’s creative highlights:

  • Our Pre-Primary children made expressive papier-mâché turtles.
  • The younger Sunflowers created colourful key chains.
  • The Daisies designed bright photo frames using iron-on beads.

Where will the donations go?

charity-project-nepal-25 The funds raised will be used to renovate and furnish one of the elementary school classrooms at CMS in Kathmandu. Should the budget allow, the flooring of an additional classroom will also be repaired.

Projects from CMS Memorial Academy of the past years:

  • We have provided scholarships including school supplies and school uniforms to several students for several years.
  • We have established computer labs for four schools.
  • We have established libraries for eleven schools.
  • We have participated in different social activities such as collecting used clothes and food for people in need. SOme of children clothes from accadis lost and found box is also sent to Nepal once a year.
  • The last years, we were actively supporting the local school in Kathmandu. We renovate classrooms and provide them with new furniture.

Through this long-standing charity project, our Preschool children learn to think beyond their own environment and gain awareness of the living conditions and needs of children in other parts of the world. This aligns closely with one of our school’s guiding principles – to foster confident, educated, and compassionate young individuals who strive to make a difference.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Sunita Shrestha, who not only initiated but also passionately leads this meaningful project year after year. Special thanks also go to all our little artists, generous donors and families for their continued support!
