On Friday, May 29, 2026, the accadis International School Bad Homburg (accadis ISB) held a festive ceremony to bid farewell to its ninth graduating class of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) and congratulated the graduates on this significant milestone. It was particularly moving: Our student Paul had been attending accadis since kindergarten and was thus supported by the accadis educational system over many years - from the bilingual kindergarten all the way to the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Dressed in caps and gowns, the graduates received their diplomas in the presence of family, friends, and teachers. Head of School Maximilian Müllerleile, Head of Secondary School Dr. Stefan Wolkenfeld, and Prof. Christoph Kexel, Managing Partner of accadis ISB, praised the class’s achievements in their speeches and looked back on shared developments, challenges, and successes. Several students were also honored for outstanding academic and personal achievements. Prof. Kexel summed it up aptly: “You are not leaving today; rather, you remain part of something greater: the accadis family. You are leaving your graduating class of 2026 and joining the ranks of more than 6,000 graduates of accadis Hochschule and accadis International School.”
Emotional reflections and personal remarks
Things became particularly emotional as everyone looked back together on the past school years. A very personal speech by Dr. Stefan Wolkenfeld - who was not only the Head of Secondary School but also served as homeroom teacher for the graduating class on multiple occasions - along with photos from kindergarten, elementary school, field trips, theater performances, projects, and their time in upper secondary school, brought back memories of many shared moments and created moving moments for graduates, parents, and teachers alike.
In their closing remarks, the students looked back on their time at school with gratitude and humor. They described the journey to graduation as “challenging, intense, and formative” -marked by mutual support, friendships, and teachers who encouraged and guided them along the way. The traditional hat toss by all graduates finally brought the ceremony to a special close and symbolized the start of a new chapter in their lives.
Recognition of the IB Diploma
The IB Diploma qualifies students for university studies in Germany and around the world. Universities value the broad yet in-depth curriculum, which equips students with a broad perspective as well as strong skills in research, critical thinking, and decision-making.
Focus on Academic Readiness from the Start
A particular strength of accadis ISB is its close collaboration with accadis University. This ensures that academic readiness is a priority from day one. For example, the “Business Management” course - part of the IB subject group “Individuals and Societies” - is taught by Prof. Dr. Andreas Huber, Professor of Marketing and Media at accadis University. Here, students learn to understand and evaluate the impacts of business activities in the global market.
accadis ISB extends its warmest congratulations to its graduates and looks forward to continuing to support them on their future paths and in their future successes.
