On 13 March 2026, six Grade 12 students, who chose Visual Arts within the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), presented their impressive artworks at the accadium of accadis International School Bad Homburg. The exhibition is an essential part of their final assessment.
Personal Themes – Individual Expressions
This year’s exhibition brought together six artistic perspectives, each exploring identity, transformation, and personal experience.
Marcel’s exhibition The Weight of Becoming reflects on the challenges of growing up, addressing inner conflict, vulnerability, and emotional complexity.
In Emotions Through Cascades of Colour, Paul explores how color can express emotion and offer hope, creating a dialogue between light, perception, and human experience.
Emily’s exhibition When Beauty Becomes Commodity critically examines the fashion industry and questions societal beauty standards through her personal experiences.
Isabella’s Dreams explores the subconscious through a range of media, creating an immersive and interpretative experience for the viewer.
Natalia’s Stages of Metamorphosis investigates identity transformation through immigration, highlighting themes of belonging, transition, and personal growth.
Victoria’s
The Theatre of Life explores identity as performance, influenced by her international background and her interest in theater and film.
IB Visual Arts curriculum goes beyond painting
“The IB Visual Arts Exhibition is always a special event. It’s incredible to see how our students develop their artistic voice over two years,” says Stalina Arnold, Art Teacher and Head of the Art Department at accadis ISB. The IB Visual Arts curriculum goes beyond painting; it includes artistic identity, historical and cultural influences, and the strategic use of media to communicate ideas.
An Afternoon of Inspiration
The exhibition attracted numerous visitors – including former students of accadis ISB – who engaged with the diverse and thought-provoking works. Guests had the opportunity to speak with the young artists and gain insight into their techniques and inspirations.
Through their exhibition, the students demonstrate that art is more than visual representation—it is a powerful medium for personal expression and societal reflection.
