Success at the Hessian School Chess Cup
On 14 November 2024, excitement filled the air as 15 students from accadis International School Bad Homburg (accadis ISB) participated in the Hessian School Chess Cup in Karben. Competing in Competition Group G, which includes students up to Grade 4, they faced strong teams from across Hesse. The participants demonstrated remarkable concentration, strategic thinking, and teamwork – leading to an outstanding result: Team 1 from accadis ISB secured first place and brought the trophy to SÜDCAMPUS! 🏆
The Path to Victory
The tournament followed a point system, tallying the board points of all team members. The accadis teams were well-prepared and remained focused, even in challenging moments. A standout performance came from six-year-old Noah from Grade 1. As the youngest member of the Bad Homburg Chess Club, he won all his matches – an extraordinary achievement contributing significantly to the overall victory.
A Strong Community
Alongside the victorious Team 1, comprising Emily, Noah, Vivaan, Nika, and Alisa, two additional accadis ISB teams participated. They showcased excellent sportsmanship and commitment. All students received certificates in recognition of their outstanding efforts. The trophy will be displayed on campus – a symbol of teamwork and perseverance.
Chess for Young Minds
Chess is more than a game. For young learners, it’s an ideal way to develop essential skills. Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and patience are honed – skills that go far beyond the chessboard. Chess also boosts confidence and fosters social interaction. These benefits were evident in the success and enthusiasm of the young accadis players.
Congratulations!
accadis International School Bad Homburg warmly congratulates all students on this impressive achievement. It is a shining example of how learning, combined with joy and teamwork, leads to exceptional outcomes. We would like thank our Elementary School teacher Marcel Hill for supporting and accompanying the children during the event.
