Groundbreaking for the new International School building

bau spatenstich“All’s well that ends well”, is how the accadis’ Gerda Meinl-Kexel expressed her across-the-board optimism. She has every reason to be as the first step has now finally been taken with the long awaited ground breaking for the new accadis school building in Norsk-Data-Strasse.

Little Lars Erik Wellmann also joined in at wielding the spade. The nine year-old genuinely earned this as he is – as Gerda Meinl-Kexel emphasised – the most “senior” pupil at International School Bad Homburg (ISB). He enrolled in the Preschool at the young age of three and will soon be entering 5th Grade in the new school. Erik was assisted in the ground breaking by Mrs Meinl-Kexel, Bad Homburg’s major Michael Korwisi as well as ISB Principal Christoph Veigel.

It has always been Gerda Meinl-Kexel’s idea to educate children in an international educational institution from the age of two right through to their university entrance qualification. This dream has now finally become reality as now the new school building with an expanse of about 5000 m2 will be erected in Obereschbach in the vicinity of accadis Hochschule. Besides the 16 classrooms and functional areas there will also be a cafeteria. Mrs Meinl-Kexel in future is striving to offer classes of 18 to 22 pupils. The new facility, which involves an investment volume of over five million Euros, is to be completed in December of this year.
